TECRO co-hosts ：Diplomatic Briefing and Reception Series； with ITSA and calls for US business support of the US-Taiwan FTA

Mr. Joseph Wu, Representative of TECRO hosted a dinner on August 8, 2007 at Twin Oaks Estate, Washingtion DC for members of Intelligent Transportation Society of America(ITSA). More than 70 particiants including US Congressonal staffs, representatives from state government, businesses and trade associations were present for this event.



Representative Wu gave a speech on the topic of ：Taiwan and the U.S.: Partners in Prosperity, Security and Democracy； and shared his insights on several issues of US business interests, including Taiwan・s successful experience on economic development, the US-Taiwan bilateral relations, intelligent transportation developmnets in Taiwan, as well as the importance of a FTA between the U.S. and Taiwan and its benefits to US business. Following the speech, Reprewentative Wu answered questions on Taiwan・s Presidential election in 2008, future prospects on the US-Taiwan FTA and Taiwan・s high speed railway system.



All ITSA particpants were highly involved in a two-way discussion with TECRO staffs at the dinner and praised this event as the most successful gathering of recent series with embassies in Washington DC.
